The history of the Robin Hood ballads were interesting, but this felt like a horrible English assignment of a book I only made it through because it was pretty short.

Interesting but difficult to read Much of it is written in middle English so there are constant references for vocabulary, explanation Also, the literary device of repetition makes parts very tiring to read I m sure when they were originally sung, they had some livelyness, but this is rarely felt in the written text.

Not in everyone s tastes, since most of the ballads are written in Middle English But I enjoyed reading a taste of my favorite story s origins.
