This unofficial biography of Jack Napier AKA The Joker is written in a dark, sinister style unlike any other Batman esque fiction I ve ever read I was expecting one of those horribly written emo teen fanfictions or something but this book was nothing of the sort, featuring profound prose and psychological horror that almost seems straight from the Batman franchise itself This unofficial biography of Jack Napier AKA The Joker is written in a dark, sinister style unlike any other Batman esque fiction I ve ever read I was expecting one of those horribly written emo teen fanfictions or something but this book was nothing of the sort, featuring profound prose and psychological horror that almost seems straight from the Batman franchise itself

Honestly this book was a bit of a mess, and not in the way that Virginia Woolf might make her writing a mess to reflect the mental state of the character rather, it was clearly never edited Others have pointed out the typos, misused and misspelled words and poor grammar that made the reading difficult at times Additionally I d point out the lack of overall fictional plot structure That said, there was something addictive and emotionally pulling about the book I might not ve picked it up i Honestly this book was a bit of a mess, and not in the way that Virginia Woolf might make her writing a mess to reflect the mental state of the character rather, it was clearly never edited Others have pointed out the typos, misused and misspelled words and poor grammar that made the reading difficult at times Additionally I d point out the lack of overall fictional plot structure That said, there was something addictive and emotionally pulling about the book I might not ve picked it up if it weren t named for my favorite fictional character BUT if I had I would ve liked this aspect no matter whom it was about The author s creative imagination felt gritty and real It recalled, in some ways, such works as FIGHT CLUB, AMERICAN PSYCHO and DIAMOND DOGS It simply needed a good and thorough edit for structure and spot checks for language use If you do not like gritty novels such as those named above, DO NOT pick up The Joker
