I truly enjoyed this mystery story It's my first read by this author and I went right over and used some purchase points to buy the next book by her It's nice to have a short stand alone mystery and I enjoyed Lexie a lot as the heroine I did guess the identity of Wolf before they did but not by much and the clues were really well done Definitely recommended

How can you not love a story riddled with descriptors like this He bristled at the intrusion into his personal space but their difference in height made it seem as though he was being stalked by a kitten p12 Brings a chuckle in the midst of all that building tension A really gripping premise develops into a page turning reading experience as the suspenseand romancegrow intriguing And being trapped on a stranded ship with a killer adds an extra thrill A complicated and edgy plot with plenty of detailed action scenes kept me on the edge of my seat And so did identifying the villain before Shaun and Lexie Another intrepid literary duo who refused to heed my warnings

I loved this exciting mystery Lexie Reilly worked for an organisation who reunites missing people with their families She got a tip where a missing teen could be found so she was on a ferry to the location when she ran into Shaun Carver She had met Shaun 8 years earlier at a youth mission trip to Botswana On that trip he had become friendly with Lixie's sister Nikki but dumped her causing Nikki to run off with the next guy she met Lexie thought she had been kidnapped and hadn't seen her since Unknown to Lexie Shaun is now an undercover CIA agent who is tracking the head of a human trafficking operationThis is a thrilling mystery that I didn't want to put down The descriptions of each scene were so detailed that I felt I was there But honestly some of the situations were so scary I was glad I wasn't there This pair was in danger most of the time and being stuck on a ferry with a murderer made their situation even tenseLexie was a very courageous woman who was determined to hate Shaun because she had always blamed him for her sister's disappearance She was pretty annoyed at herself when she was attraction to him Shaun was also attracted to Lexie but kept his distance because he didn't want to mess up the mission he had been working on for three yearsI had suspicions on who the bad guys were before it was revealed but I was wrong I do love it when I can't figure out who dunit It makes the story so much enjoyableI am so glad that I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway and highly recommend it If you like romantic mysteries you shouldn't miss this one

By far the best Love Inspired Suspense novel I have read It tackled real life issues like human trafficking while maintaining humour and obviously romance I love a strong female lead with a penchant for caffeinated beverages I also appreciated that it was Canadian Lexie reminded me a lot of someone I know which made me like her The end was very suspenseful I was on the edge of my seat Who knew Newfoundland ferrie rides could be that exciting?A solid story and refreshing for a romance author to not take themselves too seriously

I loved FATAL FREEZE I was intrigued by the concept of a book set entirely on a ferry and I do love anything involving CIA agents Add in the element of a brave woman tackling the daunting task of searching for a missing girl and this story has all the elements of a thrilling romance It lived up to my expectations Can't wait to read from Michelle Karl

DNF'd at 30%This could have been great it really could have There was just one small problemor maybe a fewSo our protagonist is a plunky feisty lady who is volunteering wiht a missing persons organization to help track down a missing teenager She boards a ship sailing to Newfoundland unaware that her sister's ex who broke her heart etc is also boarding for a seemingly unrelated work situation too Except gasp The two cases are related Now this was where I was hoping they would get cracking on solving the case but instead our protagonsists spend time stweing in sexual tension reminiscing over the past and playing terribly architypical roles to do much case solvingCase in point our brooding male hero grapples with a white knight complex He spends the entire time trying to convince the heroine to let him handle things to the point where she calls him out and essentially infantilizes her He'd much rather she the civilian stayed in her cabin while he resolved things because he's a superspecial cop or whatever Thing isthis is her damn job This is what she's been assigned to do find this missing kid Acting like her work has zero importance is not endearing him to me There are things she can do to help without endangering herselfSpeaking of endangering herself it would probably be helpful if our heroine actually knew shit about her own line of work I can't tell if she is privileged than she is ignorant Somehow the idea that human trafficking exists in North America is shocking to her a woman dedicated to finding missing people and she can barely believe that's where her missing target might be Seriously? Google that shitTo make things worse she is incredibly TSTL and is constantly getting into situations I could immediately tell would go badly At some point I had to stop reading I was so infuriated by her sheer stupidity And then I did stop reading because there are smarter heroines on my bookshelf TLDR nopeBlog Twitter Instagram

Great book I was sucked into the story right away I love it when a book gets my attention right away It starts out with a mysterious stranger attacking one of the main characters Lexie She doesn't know who to trust and who not to trust while traveling alone on the ferry Once she recognizes Shaun who came to her rescue on the car deck her anger at him resurfaces after all the years since she last saw him She has no idea that Shaun is working undercover and posing as someone else Shaun is afraid Lexie is going to blow his cover so he has to let her know that he's undercover Lexie doesn't believe him until she keeps getting attacked in some scary ways They gain the trust of the security team and are working with them to find out who is behind all the attacks But as we all know not everyone is to be trusted Who tried to gas them? Who shot at them? Who set the bomb to explode in the elevator? Why does it seem like someone knows where they are at all times? If you want to know the answers to these uestions and who Lexie can and can't trust you'll have to read the book
